About Us

 The studio was founded by Caroline Beaty. Caroline has been teaching, directing and choreographing for 8 years. She is a nationally certified Cecchetti instuctor, receiving  highest  accreditations for levels I - Professional.

 

Teaching credits include, acceptance into NYSSA Modern intesive, NYSSA Ballet intensive, Joffrey ballet intensive, American Academy of Ballet, Brockport Dance Program, Marymount Manhattan Dance Program. She has coached levels I - V in cecchetti syllabus with students receiving highest accreditations scores on exams.

Our Goal at Reality Dance Studio is to offer dance training of the highest possible caliber. We will provide our dancers with dance education and training to ensure if desired a dance career is obtainable. We offer a faculty that is specialized in a specific dance forms/styles. Our instructors are trained dancers, certified teachers and experienced professionals.Our dancers are immersed in all areas of dance and are saturated with performance and real world dance opportunities. Our Reality Elite Dance Company provides dancers a chance to take nationally certified ballet examinations, compete in regional and national dance competitions, and perform locally in showcases and publicity performances such as an annual Nutcracker

Our studio registration classes also provide all students with the opportunity to dance in our  annual June recital.

Meet The Entire Reality  Faculty

 Dr. Deb Rutledge

 began her dance training under the direction of Barbara Teabeau in Queensbury N.Y.  She graduated cum laude from Ohio University, with a BFA in Dance.  While in Ohio, she studied under Gladys Balin, Doug Elkins. Mark Haim, Terre O’Connor and others.  Her choreography has been presented at universities and community centers in New York and Ohio.  Deb began her professional career with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company where she created many roles. She went on to become apart of Maude Baum and Company/eb Dance Theatre where she worked as performer, Arts-In-Education curriculum developer and grant writer.  Deb began performing as a soloist with Nacre Dance in 2005 where she has had the opportunity to perform works by Isadora Duncan, Charles Widman, Ted Shawn, and Doris Humphrey to name a few.  She has been a guest artist, as both performer and choreographer, with the Youth Ballet Company and Adirondack Ballet Theatre.  She served as ballet and modern instructor for the RPI Dance Club, and as a senior faculty member at the eba Center for Dance.  Deb has also served on faculty and as guest performer for the School of Arts at the National Museum of Dance. Deb recently received her Doctor of Physical Therapy and is currently employed at The Center For Disability Services as a neurodevelopmental rehabilitation specialist.   

Magen MacDavid - Potter

Magen began her dance training under the direction of Barbara Tebeau at the age of three.  She has trained in the Cecchetti method as a ballet student and also trained in Jazz, Tap and Modern. Magen has had the oppourtunity to further her training and study with the American Academy of Ballet and studio Mystro. She is a graduate of The New School of Radio and Television and currently works as a television reporter and Morning Radio Host on 95.9. Her passion has always been dance and is thrilled to teach aspiring dancers. Welcome aboard miss Magen!

Ashley Tucker

Ashley is seventeen years old and has been training in the dance field since she was four. She has been instructed by a variety of dance teachers, but her main teacher has been Caroline Beaty for about eleven years. Ashley has had training in jazz, tap, acrobatics, hip hop, modern, contemporary, acrobatics, lyrical, and most importantly ballet. She has studied ballet in the cecchetti method with Ms Beaty and has taken exams on grades one and two. Ashley has only tested twice, but received the highest possible score on each exam. She has also taken her talent in dancing to multiple competitions, choreographer show cases, auditions, and shows. Currently Ashley is a member of the Reality Dance Studios Competitive Team, as she has been for three years now. Ashley is currently a student at Argyle Central School and is ranked number one in her class. In addition, she is also secretary of her class and part of the Science, Art, and National Honor Societies. On top of all this, she participates in many school clubs and organizations. Ashley has been student teaching for three years and has just began teaching on her own this year. Ashley works well with kids and enjoys teaching them and watching them grow throughout the year. She hopes to pass on her dedication, hard work, and talent to her students just as her teachers had done to her.

Jen Sullivan -

Jen began her training in gymnastics at the young age of 4. She trained as a competitive gymnast at Aerials Gym.  Jen has had the oppourtunity to be coached by Jerry Cole, Rose Macaulay, and Toby Gifford.  As a competitive gymnast Jen was a member of the USAG competitive team. Jen transitioned from competitive gymnast to competitive gymnastics coach and has coached the USAG competitive team for 8 years. Jen specialized as a beam and floor coach and choreographer.  Her coaching credits include state championship titles.  Jens approach to teaching is personal, she focuses on each individual student and gives them everything she can in helping them obtain their personal goals, whether is be in gymnastics, acro, cheerleading, or in their personal life as well.


Alydia Meinecke

began her dance training at the age of six. Throughout the years Alydia has studied ballet, pointe, acrobatics, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap, modern, hip-hop, and breakdancing. Alydia has taken national Cecchetti exams, as well being a competitive dancer for years, receiving platinum, overalls, and scholarships for nationals. Alydia is currently attending Lake George High School, ranking second in her class, is involved in student council, Spanish and National Honor Society, and is a member multiple other committees. Alydia has completed science camps at Clarkson University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Boston Leadership Institute, University of Brockport, and University of Connecticut . She is currently involved in a college level research program dealing with the podiatry, specializing in the rehabilitation of dancers. Alydia has been assistant teaching for five years and recently started teaching last year. She is able to contribute her extreme dedication, her absolute love for dance, and her passion for encouraging young children.


Brittany Caselnova

Brittany started dancing in an after-school program at the age of 5, where she took ballet and tap. Over the next few years, she tried other styles, finding that hip hop was her favorite. In 6th grade, she began dancing at Divine Rhythms dance studio on Long Island where she took hip hop classes for another three years. Additionally, she was a cheerleader for seven years in middle school and high school. In college, she was a hip hop choreographer for the Del Sarte Dance Club for four years, as well as a member of the Image Step team for a semester. During her junior year of college, Brittany also began teaching hip hop classes at N&N Studio of Dance, where she taught for two years. Since coming to Glens Falls after college, Brittany has been teaching hip hop levels 1 through 4 at Reality Dance Studio. Brittany has over six years of experience choreographing and teaching all levels of hip hop, as well as step/stomp routines

Barbara Tebeau- Guest Master Teacher

Barbara Tebeau holds Licentiate Membership with Cecchetti Council of America and past membership with Dance Masters of America. Owner/Director of Barbara Jeanne School of Dance in St. Louis, Owner/Director of Dance Center of Queensbury, Founder/Artistic Director of St. Charles Ballet, Founder/Artist...ic Director of Adirondack Ballet. Teaching Credits include: dance degrees from The Juilliard School, Boston Conservatory, Butler University; dancers with San Francisco Ballet, Miami Ballet, NYC Ballet, Martha Graham Company, Ellen Sinopoli Company, Radio City Rockettes & Easter Extravaganza, Broadway's 42nd Street; Miss Dance of St. Louis titles for three years, Miss Dance of America finalists, winner of Dance Masters of America highest level national scholarship at summer convention, several Dance Masters of NY title and scholarship winners; Miss America talent winner at Miss New York Pageant; coaches ballet teachers for international ballet examinations.

 

Nicole Woodcock ( Guest Faculty/ Guest Artist)

Nicole Woodcock began her training at the age of three and has studied intensively with Caroline Beaty since the age of 10. Nicole has studied in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Acrobatics. She was apart of the Adirondack Ballet Theater's productions of the Nutcracker, Alice in Wonderland, Coppelia, Cinderella and the Firebird. Nicole has been accepted by audition into the New York City Ballet's productions of Circus Polka and Aurora's Wedding and has been accepted by audition into prestigious summer intensives such as: The Joffrey Ballet School, The New York State Summer School of the Arts Modern Dance, The Syracuse University Summer Intensive, and The American Academy of Ballet Summer Intensive. This year Nicole was accepted by audition into the dance programs at both Marymount Manhattan and Brockport College, even receiving a competitive dance scholarship to Marymount. Nicole has studied and commended Cecchetti exams grades I - VI and has assisted in Grade I and III classes. This past year she taught Hip-Hop and Combination Ballet/Tap/Jazz to local dancers. Nicole greatly looks forward to working with our new students to push themselves to go after their dreams!
